100 year wildflower bloom - details 1

death valley, march 4, 2005

Zoomed in 137%, the first frame shows Desert Holly shrubs scattered across the view, these grow 1-2 ft, they resemble pale green rocks from this distance. Heliotropes growing 1-2 ft are seen as purple strands crisscrossing the rock face. Using these as base measurements, I've placed to scale a 6 ft hiker along with a 25 ft "X" to keep a reference point as you zoom out.

Click the picture to view a slideshow that demonstrates the high resolution captured with the Fuji GX617 panorama camera and a Hasselblad Flextight 949 scanner. Keep in mind the camera is over 3 miles away from the mountain.
