primordial carrizo plain

Fuji GX617 panorama camera - The Carrizo Plain National Monument is a high broad valley with the San Andreas faultline running the 70 mile length of its northeastern edge. A range of mountins aptly named Temblor, very few amenities with miles of dirt roads and usually a dry soda lake are several of many reasons to see this land. An amazing open space with a primordial feel, it's a newly designated National Monument that deserves National Park status for protection. Goldfields, Lupines and California Poppies blanket this plain where wild antelope play.
