mojave desert ca 2005
Fuji GX617 panorama camera - Desert Candles standing 3 feet luminesce like fiber optics with the setting sunlight glowing through their hollow stems. During a usual spring these plants are sparse and small, the tremendous moisture of 2004/2005's winter created vast stretches of glowing candles adjacent to the Desert Tortoise Natural Area northeast of California City. Early settlers ate the cooked leaves which taste like cabbage.
