It's not easy to see over the internet but if you look carefully in the close up you'll see the black-maroon dots of the jewel flower. Very unusual color for a wildflower. Because this top-heavy flower sits atop long spindly stalks that swing with the slightest breeze, I've rarely been able to photograph them with the long exposures required for landscapes.
